The series of paintings were created when I was overwhelmed by some situations that were bleak and dark. Yet, I felt the brightness of the One who is light like no other.
This painting is a declaration, a prayer for light to break into darkness. The bible describes light breaking in like this: 'The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them the light has shined.' (Isaiah chapter 9)
This painting is one that may join others in a new exhibition at Foxhill House and Woodland in June 2023. I will hold a 'light in darkness' exhibition for around 6months.
It's created using mixed media, pastels, powder paint, acrylic, lots of water, inks and varnishes to create a textures abstract painting!
It is a large canvas and measures approx 180cm by 120cm.
