This painting was created with layers of pastel, wax, water, acrylics, spray paint and more pastels.

It is inspired by the text from Luke's Gospel: 

When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” (Luke 3- from the Bible.)

I wanted to show the Holy Spirit stepping (flying) into strife and pain. When we pray 'Come Holy Spirit' it's not so we can have a warm fuzzy feeling, but rather for the transformation of the world and to bring new life to where there is darkness.

The frames I use for my photo prints are made in the UK by a family run company. They have over 30 years of experience and take pride in hand making every frame.
