Commissioned for a cafe

One of the most genuine, kind, energetic and go-getting kind of ministers that I have ever met came to pick up a commission today for a community cafe based in Stockport.

Ed Leavy picking up the painting

The painting is of a Monarch Chrysalis to butterfly process depicting new life. From death to life. Transformation of the old into the new.

The reason I’ve painted it is to bring some hope to those who will see it in the cafe. Why? This whole past ‘loss of a season’ has been cocoon like, a liminal place where I personally have not known what is to come. Yet, I have hope and I pray that the simple imagery may pass on the hope that I have to those who will come into the cafe bereft of hope.

There are three encouragements which I write briefly about the painting on some accompanying cards.

  1. There is life.
  2. There is hope.
  3. There is a good future.

A blessing:

May you know the closeness of the One who brings new life.

May you know the hope of what is to come.

May you be guarded by peace and know that your future is in good hands. Amen.

The painting is available as prints and you can order yours by clicking here. There are 3 free prints on offer until the end of October!
