The thistles spring up everywhere on the island.
Chaplaincy on Bardsey this year was a mix of joy and sadness. There was an accident in the island before I arrived and tragically a man lost his life. It happened in a moment.
The paintings I produced reflected the fragility of life represented by grasses and flowers in the field, but also reveal the energy and colour of the island that always brings me close to God as I see His beauty in creation.
This painting is a simple one looking down to where I lived for two weeks capturing some of the beautiful defiant thistles.
It's painted using acrylic inks, pen and spray paints.
You can see a film of all the paintings I produced this year here:
This painting measures 304 by 304mm in size and is painted on a beautiful made naturally coated canvas.
