Chaplaincy on Bardsey this year was a mix of joy and sadness. There was an accident in the island before I arrived and tragically a man lost his life. It happened in a moment.
The paintings I produced reflected the fragility of life represented by grasses and flowers in the field, but also reveal the energy and colour of the island that always brings me close to God as I see His beauty in creation.
This painting is a simple one looking at the grasses on a wall on a track. I've used an earthy sepia brown to create a sense of the colours I saw the island steeped in.
It's painted using acrylic inks, pen and spray paints.
You can see a film of all the paintings I produced this year here:
This painting measures 18" x 14" (460mm x 354mm) and is painted on a thin brown textured canvas board.
