I wanted to capture the immediacy of the weather when staying on Bardsey. One day was pure blue, open seas and a vista as far as the eye could see.
The other two paintings in the series capture the closeness of the mist, a grey Friday that seemed to grow greyer throughout the day.
Bardsey (Enlli) is off the Welsh North coast and every time I visit I am mesmerised by the colours of the island!
This painting seeks to capture the vibrant blues that come when the sun is bright. It's the view from where I stayed with some friends up at the North end of the island looking down to the sea.
Here is a short film about the paintings:
This painting measures approx 65cm by 50cm and is painted on a thin canvas board.
