Postcards: 'Deliver Us From Evil.'

The original painting of this image was created in the summer at Frinton Free mission week. Most evenings I spend time in worship and prayer (and I paint!) with Christians from across the churches. It is heavenly. Powerful encounters as we lift our voices in praise and wait for the Holy Spirit. Here is a short film about it: 

One evening I felt the Lord speak about how he delivers people from evil. It was such a profound sense of 'this is what Jesus does' rather than wishful thinking. 

I wanted to respond to this sense in painting and the colours and abstract forms emerged. Are they mountain? A river? Fire? It felt like a powerful image and it proved to be a marker for me as I used new bio-acrylic paints.
