These stunning A5 prints are created on A5 recycled ♻️ card. The original painting was somewhat of a compulsion to create. It was while serving as artist in residence at St A's in Cambridge that it was created, almost urgent like!
I wanted to capture an urgency in prayer. Afterwards the war between the US and Iran broke out and I felt it was a prayer asking for mercy. A few days later I was able to give the original to the Bishop of Chelmsford who had to flee Iran when she was a teenager. The painting felt like a prayer for the church in Iran and in particular the Anglican church in that nation.

It can be hard to know how to pray for this world. This painting carries a simple prayer: Lord, please have mercy.
But why? I believe peace for this world can only be found in the Prince of Peace, the One who is able to bring peace like no other.
In these times of war and conflict all over the world, from the Middle East to Ukraine to Sudan, Jesus is the only one who is able to breathe peace and bring about an end to the needless destruction and loss of life of the innocent caught up in the savage brutality of war. His heart is for peace.
